Chiefs Defense Faces Backup Quarterback Sunday
2 years ago

The Kansas City Chiefs defense did their part to keep the offense within striking distance in Week 16's unlikely 20-14 defeat to the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders, allowing just eight points with two sacks. It still wasn't the splashy performance fantasy managers were hoping for against rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell, who completed a mere nine of his 21 passes for 62 yards. The Chiefs D rumbled into their Week 10 bye with four consecutive double-digit fantasy efforts, but they've recorded seven points or fewer in six straight meetings. Steve Spagnuolo's unit remains a stingy one overall, however, yielding the third-fewest yards per attempt (5.5) and fourth-fewest fantasy points to QBs to go with the fourth-most sacks (48). Cincinnati Bengals second-string signal-caller Jake Browning was exposed a bit for three picks last Saturday, so K.C.'s D should be not be shied away from at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 17.
